Cross View Tea Rooms was established in 1988, originally taking over 38 Market Place which previously had been the office and café of the United Bus Company.
In 1994 the adjoining 39 Market Place was taken on almost doubling the size of the premises. The current owners Ian and Cath Muir took over the business in 2003 and continue to develop the business with the help of their enthusiastic staff.
The café prides itself in producing a high standard of food prepared freshly on the premises using locally supplied produce. By working closely with local suppliers the café is able to produce fresh seasonal dishes and offer a wide ranging menu, from traditional through to modern tastes.
Because dishes are prepared freshly the café offers a very flexible menu system and can cater for most needs and size of party, although at busy times the customers patience is appreciated. Larger parties may be catered for by prior arrangement and an option of evening opening is available.
Cross View Tea Rooms are active members of the local Business and Tourism Association and are proud to be the shirt sponsors of Richmond Mavericks Football Club.
